I would like to nominate my husband Jamie to be an Olympic Torch bearer. Twelve years ago Jamie was involved in a horrific mountaineering accident in which his best friend died and Jamie lost his hands and feet. Since his accident, with the help and support of countless friends, family and professionals Jamie has regained a normal life, although his normal life includes: mountain climbing, skiing, rock climbing, marathon running, triathlon, cycling, sailing, supporting his family and charity fund raising. He has touched the lives of thousands of people with his message of 'if you believe in yourself anything is possible'. Jamie's great passion of mountaineering is not an Olympic sport but he is a true sportsman, an inspiration to others and a great example of what can be achieved in life. I believe that he would be an ideal Olympic Torchbearer.
