(Caterpillar) James Murray lost a close caterpillar colleague to suicide in 2008. Deeply touched by this tragedy, James undertook to help prevent suicide through suicide awareness education. He engaged with the 'public initiate for the prevention of Suicide - a local suicide awareness group to deliver 960 hours of suicide awareness education in FG Wilson with future programmes planned. After James father died of cancer last year, James responded to this personal tragedy by becoming a champion for charity fund-raising. He completed the Belfast marathon and he organised over 60 volunteers from FG Wilson to complete the Laganside 10K, raising over £6500 for Macmillan cancer support. James is also the father of beautiful 7 year old daughter Aoife, who is a double amputee. He donates significant time to Musgrave Hospital Centre and I feel the Olympic spirit would be upheld by James carrying the Olympic torch alongside his inspirational daughter.
