Jim's nomination story

Jimmy is my granddad and he has played, coached and dedicated his life to his local football team and community. At the grand age of 72 he still organises matches (most recently for the Island Games last month) and ensures that the pitches and changing rooms are clean and prepared. He has always been fit and often gets up at 7am to go to the gym. He has been an inspiration to his four children and eight grandchildren, with professional swimmers, marathon runners, motocross stars and footballers among the brood. I have fond memories of him helping us to do our 'exercises' in the garden when we were young and telling us the importance of keeping fit. He is a fantastic husband, father and grandfather ; by nominating him for this event, I hope he knows how much he means to us.
