Jim Mooney

Jim has spent the past 22 years helping support Orphans in Romania. He works tirelessly,has funded his own travel to Romania & helped with building refurbishments, summer holidays, Christmas surprises & other entertainment for the young people there, encouraging local Dumfries schoolkids to learn & experience volunteering. Jim also helps local vulnerable, elderly people, doing many 'odd jobs' - painting & decorating, plumbing, plastering, tiling and general assistance for these folks who have little support of their own. He helps with car boot sales to raise funds. His commitment and support belies his 72 years of age! He always has a funny story to tell, brightening up people's lives and has a bright and positive outlook on life, infectious to those he comes in contact with. He is dependable, always there to help and support those in need without any expectation on his part. A Star!
