James Jackson

The individual I am nominating for his chance to shine is James Jackson. For the last 18 months he has shown indescribable amounts of commitment, determination and inspirational actions. From New Years 2009 when James weighed 27.9 Stone to New Years 2010 weighing 16.6 James lost a total of 11.4 stones, and has maintained this weight loss for 6 months, now weighing 16.6 stone. James made gradual changes to his diet and physical activity levels allowing him to make changes one step at a time and remain committed to his goal. This journey was followed by many peers on Facebook and provided inspiration for others to follow. In the first two months alone he lost 3.8 stones with another 2.2 stone in the following couple of months. As each month went on James did not once put on weight and continually demonstrated commitment and determination to achieve his goal. Working as the Health Co-ordinator within the College in which James and I work, I have watched James every step of the way in total support and delight of the incredible changes he has successfully made to his body. Every month James has shown pure determination, drive, commitment and achievement and is an absolute inspiration to everyone around him and am proud to nominate him as a torch bearer for Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
