James Horrex is only 13 years old and is an accomplished and dedicated runner. James has participated and organised many running events aimed at raising funds for a number of worthy causes. Many of the events are for less privileged children around the world. For example he ran a half marathon/duathlon running and cycling event to support Education for Indigent Girls in Africa (EFIG), which is an African charity aimed at educating less fortunate children. This was an event that only James and an adult ran in, solely aimed at raising funds for this charity. James has also organised and participated in other fund raising events, such as Fun Runs and also AMREF. I cannot thank him enough for all of his tireless efforts. James is a remarkable boy and would be so proud if he were to be nominated to be involved with the Olympic Flame. James is a member of the Thames Harriers Running Club and participates in many competitive running events too. I feel that this young boy is well deserving of such an honour and has really earned the privilege of being involved in such an event. I do hope you will give James' nomination careful consideration. Without James' efforts the EFIG charity that I organise and operate would not have been as successful as it is today without the time and energy he has given.
