James Grote

James Grote is Director of the Ark-T Centre, a commmunity arts project based in john bunyan Baptist church. The centre opened in 1997 and every week around 900 people share in its life through art workshops, dance classes, music, visiting the gallery and eating int he cafe. It is a resource for the most marginalised and James believes that creativity through the arts can allow people to discover new things about themselves and others and unlock the potential for change. James embodies a determination to act for change, not just talk about it and offers a different, hopeful way of seeingt he world and the people in it, James has touched many people's lives. listened to them and felt for them, sympathised and laughed with thema nd given them new resolve and the heart and faith to do what is required, and do it better than before.
