James's nomination story

I promoted my school Culverhay in Council meetings and through radio interviews (one with Nick Clegg) to help prevent its closure.I hope to get more people especially young people involved in their communities through continuing my work with young people (for example through coaching primary aged pupils in sport and by highlighting the benefits of being part of a community and supporting it. My radio interviews speeches and pieces in the local newspaper helped to overturn a decision to close my school just weeks before the closure was finalised and so I have already shown that if you put your mind to things you can achieve your desired goal. I want to continue to promote the school even though I have just left in order to show what effort can achieve and continue to inspire people to put effort into everything they do; community and beyond.
