James's nomination story

James's main asset is that he is a really nice kid ! He works hard, is diligent, loyal, caring and has a strong sense of what is right and fair. He has made great friends through all his sports from a wide variety of cultural and economic backgrounds, their connection being their passion about sport. He is committed to his health and fitness, trains hard in preparation for competitive sport and is very aware of the importance of healthy eating. this attitude rubs off on his family and friends. He has had to deal with the frustrations of injury, he tore hIs hamstring badly last year. He persevered and remained positive during six months of recovery. During that time he continued to support his school being Captain of Cross Country by marshalling and supporting his runners. He competes for Emanuel School, Wandsworth Borough, Herne Hill Harriers (E. Surrey, Surrey & the nationals) Spencer Cricket Club and has competed in The London Youth Games for Cross Country and Cricket (so far!) , The Lord Mayor's Mile, London Mini Marathon, The Nationals in Fives and is in the Inner London Surrey District squad for cricket. He like many athletic children has played lots of sports over the years (Gymnastics, judo, football, rugby, swimming, cricket, tennis, athletics, basketball, rowing, fives and more). His enthusiasm shines forth and he's always prepared to try something new ! To be chosen to run with the torch would be such an honor and he would be thrilled to have the opportunity.
