James's nomination story

Inspired by the care, comfort and compassion provided by the Yorkshire hospice which was treating his father for cancer, James decided to dedicate 2010 to undertaking a fundraising marathon to raise money for the hospice.

Calling it the 10:10:10, James committed to ten 10k runs in 2010. James soon strong-armed 9 of his friends and colleagues to join him in the mission.

Over a series of 10 weekends and countless training sessions in-between, James and his crew ran to victory as they crossed the finish line of their 10th and final run at the end of last year.

James successfully raised a very impressive and very fitting £10k for the hospice and has helped to ensure that the dedicated staff there can continue their valuable and selfless work to make the lives of cancer sufferers that little bit easier. And of course made it the 10:10:10:10... CR
