James Anderson is a Chelsea Pensioner at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. At 75 years of age, James is a wonderful ambassador for the Royal Hospital but, as well as this, he is still a regular marathon and 10k runner. In July he is running the British 10k in London for the Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal. In his scarlet coat and tricorne hat I think he would make a very impressive, iconic torchbearer - particularly for the section of the route that is due to go along the King's Road. He would also be a fitting reminder of our Nation's Covenant with retired and injured veterans, particularly as we at the Royal Hospital are currently preparing ourselves for the next 300 years and, in particular, those soldiers who have been left disabled following tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Please note: My name is Laura Mayes and I work at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. James does not have an email address, hence why I have listed my own.
