Jamaal Otto,15 deserves be a torch bearer for being an inspirational role model to young people. He has excelled as an athlete to represent England in Karate at National and International level with his achievements in winning:Silver medal-European Championships in Serbia, Gold medal-World Youth Games in Turkey, Three Golds-British Championships and selected for the World Championships in Malaysia. Jamaal is proud to represent Waltham Forest, in captaining the Basketball team for Heathcote School to the quarter finals of the Basketball Championships, selected for the Aim Higher Programme and as a Prefect. Jamaal commits his time in the holidays on a challenging but rewarding sports camp in Hackney which my(son attends) I have observed Jamaal to be excellent in using his communication skills to teach children who are not familiar with sports in motivating and building up their confidence.
