Jack as a volunteer would put in over 20 hours a week to causes varying from Youth Politics to Sexual Health, he didnt care for money giving any gifts etc to charities except maybe a cheeky starbucks frappacino. He would be up at 7 to do his homework for school that day because he wouldnt get in till 10/11 at night sometimes from volunteering and thus would eat, watch tv and fall asleep on the sofa. In all honesty I dont know why he did all this volunteering, he says it helped with the girls but I doubt that is the reason. He is my son and so my opinion is rose-tinted but I never could believe how hard he worked sometimes for people who he never met setting up a programme with others to help children from rough backgrounds get access to sports like archery for a pound a go. He isnt without flaw though he goes out and drinks, and he used to smoke and sometimes he sleeps in till 12 but that makes him better I think. He is a normal joe doing stuff no normal joe does, he leads two lives, one as a volunteer and then one as a normal 18-year-old with friends and girlfriends and all the temptations put in front of an 18 year old. When I told him I was nominating him he was so excited, yet in typical fashion of my son (still doubt he is mine) he wasnt excited for himself but show he could show the 13 and 14 year olds he volunteers with the rewards of doing something for someone else. So please give my son the chance to shine I truly thinks he deserves it.
