Jack is thirteen years old and has Moebius Syndrome which is a rare condition that affects his life in many ways. Over the last 3 years that he has astounded his doctors/teachers/parents involved in his life. He is blind in one eye and has dual hearing aids for moderate hearing loss in both ears; a lack of cerebellum drastically affects his balance and co-ordination. His legs are severely disabled with problems in his hips, knees and feet, he has undergone numerous operations on his legs, eyes, ears and mouth, he is still unable to smile. His lack of balance obviously affects his mobility but he has succeeded in completing sponsored runs raising nearly £20k for charity over the last three years. In November 2007 Jack won the accolade of being 'NCH Young Achiever, Youngster of the Year award and 2011 he won disabled performer of the year. One of Jack's proudest achievements is the personal sponsorship of 3 orphans of aids in Malealea, Lesotho through secondary education, and in January of 2008 year he received a personal gift from the HRH Prince Seeiso Seeiso of Lesotho as a thank you for all his hard work. Jack has very recently learned that he is to have his left eye removed. The eyeball is shrinking and will eventually whither away to nothing and so surgery is the best option, he is so concerned he wont be able to run and climb for charity. He is inspriational to all around him and once you have met him you will never forget him! Jack is a true legend to all who meet him
