Ian's nomination story

Ian inspires many to achieve their dreams. When I met him 10 years ago, he was plodding along in normal life with many ambitions and a list of things that he wanted to do in his lifetime. He has achieved that list and in the process raised a large amount of money for many charities. The list included running the London Marathon, which he has now done twice, first for the Mental Health Foundation and then Guide Dogs for the Blind. He has run many local races raising money himself for the local cancer unit and last year completed a Gurka challenge to again raise money for charity. In addition to all of this, he works 7 days a week running his own garden centre. He has inspired so many people to get up and do something for themselves, for charity and his family who are incredibly proud of him. His list continues with many additional ambitions added all the time...!
