Ian's nomination story

on the 8th August 2010, Ian, his wife Joanne, and two daugthers were travelling back from Scotland from my wedding. On the way home, their car was hit by another travelling the wrong way down the road. His wife and eldest daughter Mya (6) were killed. Ian & their baby ava, survived. Despite massive injuries, in the last 10 months Ian has scaled the UK's highest mountains, established a charity and inspired over 1000 to join the organ register. He is an inspiration, and refuses to be beat, in Sept he will be running the great north run. To go through what he has, and come out the other side is a miracle, his focus on doing for others is testament to his love for his girls. No one with a family ought to have to go through what ian has. Where others would crumble and hide, ian is an inspiration. From being left unable to walk more than 100 yards he is now climbing mountains and running marathons, to help others..
