Ian Howson

Ian is a governor at my school which is a school for children with significant disabilities. He gives so generously of his time to improve the life chances of children and young people with disabilities across Blackpool. Ian and his wife foster 5 children, 3 of whom have significant disabilities. They have also adopted a boy with a disability. Ian`s energy is boundless. He runs our local after school and weekend sports club - Bears - designed to give disabled children further opportunities to experience sport and is the local organiser of riding for the disabled. Without people like Ian giving voluntarily of his time, the opportunities for disabled children in Blackpool would be significantly reduced.
