My Dad (Right in photo) in 2006 had a liver transplant after years suffering from a rare liver disease (PSC). In 2007/8 he ran 2 1/2 marathons and the London Marathon & organised a charity auction/party raising £70,000 for the Liver Unit in the QEHospital, Birmingham. In 2007/8 he won the tennis at the British Transplant Games & was chosen to play for England in the World Transplant Games in Australia in 2009 where he won gold in the singles & doubles (photo). In November 2010, he had to have his colon removed due to years of suffering from Ulcerative Colitis, and now has a Stoma bag. Further ops prevented him defending his world titles in Sweden this year. He's planning a bike ride from Scotland to London via the transplant units to raise awareness of organ donation. My dad is an inspiration & a hero & a really worthy person to carry the olympic torch. It would mean the world to him.
