Ian Blatt

Ian is a passionate supporter of the My Fantastic Life Charity, and has been involved in several different initiatives within the charity. My Fantastic Life is a local charity for Cambridgeshire that is dedicated to give young adults with learning and physical disabilities a fair chance to be involved in activities that they would tend to be excluded from. The charity has helped several young adults and supported parents and carers giving them some respite from there responsibilities, and helping them in difficult situations. It also helps the parents get a balance to their lives, and gives them that chance to do something they would normally avoid due to responsibilities in life.

Since being involved in the charity Ian has helped to organise and set up a charity award ball, a weeks camping away from parents and carers in Thetford Forest, and a fundraising party. The young adults had a unique experience at both the charity ball and the camping trip, being able to do activities other people might have assumed they would be unable to do, for the charity ball they were able to get up and dance and have their very own 'prom' which no one else would have provided for them. Ian will now be starting to work for the charity for two hours a week after work on Tuesdays with one of the youth groups in the area, again giving the parents and carers that break and space from their everyday responsibilities.
