Iain's nomination story

Iain Crombie volunteers and fundraises for Action Medical Research, Currie Community Rugby Trust and Rugby coaching at Currie RFC.

Action Medical Research are the leading UK-wide medical research charity dedicated to helping babies and children. This year Iain has cycled 390 miles from Geneva to Nice in 4 days to raise funds for AMR raising £1750, he's also planned and completed Static Cycling events at Edinburgh Airport and shopping centres to raise awareness and fundsraising support

Currie Community Rugby Trust aims to assist in the development of rugby, in the local area by helping schools and local groups promote rugby to local youth. Iain's support has helped the CCRT continue their promotion of sport in the local area and contributed to the Mini section success. It is now the largest in Scotland with over 220 children undertaking regular sporting activity and being involved in competitive sport through CRFC.Iain has raised £1100 this year, meaning a team could travel to Dublin in 2011 and benefit from the experience of playing rugby at the next 'grade level' as well as furthering the boys social skills as part of a sporting team.

Iain also coaches young people each week. The Club was the first sporting facility in Scotland to receive the Healthy Living Award from the Scottish Consumer Council.

Iain Makes a Difference by giving his time, enthusiasm and experience to raise funds and awareness and directly support young people in his community. CR
