Hope's nomination story

Hope was until Jan 2008 a fit and very active girl she did lots to help raise money for charity, played bagpipes with the local pipeband, was an active member and helper with the local Pony Club, was a highland dancer, played football&hockey for her school&swam both for her school&2 local clubs. She often danced&or piped for fundraising events,OAP parties&charity events, witch she loved to do.Then her left leg got very sore, despite this she carried on as best she could. In August 2008 she was diagnosed with REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DYSTROPHY,since then she has had many trips and stays in Yorkhill Childrens Hospital Glasgow. She lives in constant agony and now has no use of her left leg, limited hip mobility, and loss of sensation in her right leg.Despite all of this she has carried on at school, trying to fundraise&has swum more than ever, she now swims for Highland,Tain&The Scottish National Disability Squad.Despite being told it couldnt happen she now holds an IPC classification, this has taken both physical&mental pain to acheive.Hope desparatley wants to raise awareness of RSD&other chronic pain disorders&wants to let other sufferers know that RSD does not have to be an end just a different begginning.Never has Hope said why me or this is not fair, instead she smiles and helps &incourages everyone she meets.Hope is an inspiration to everyone she meets, from the young swimmers she helps and incourages everyday up to the teachers and coaches she always has a smile for and her proud family
