Lena Conlin

In April 2006 age 39 Lena she gave up smoking & started to gain weight so she started walking before taking her sons to school. She then started to run, going out early so no one could see her. A friend told her about Race for Life and she entered in 2007. In 2008 she did Race for Life & the Great Yorkshire 10 km run and joined Ripon Runners. She`s completed 80+ races & an Oly. Dist. Triath. In 2007 Lena organised a walk for Sports Relief. She`s raised money for Cancer Research, Age Concern, Cystic Fibrosis, Red Triangle Drama Group, St Wilfrid's Parade, YMCA, Help For Heroes, Macmillan and British Lung Foun. Lena`s been a volunteer youth worker at Red Triangle Drama Grp for 8yrs. She`s studying for her level 2 sports coach to enable her to set up a running club at the school where she works with young people in danger of exclusion she's also helping set up a Jnr. Grp at Ripon Runner
