Helen Youngs

Helen is a fantastic single mother of two and is also my very best friend. Helen understands what it is to be a friend and has never let me down. She is a Cub Scout leader of 23 years experience and runs the largest and most successful Cub Scout pack in Tiverton (she always has a waiting list). In addition she is a level 2 Swiming Instructor having taught hundreds of young children to swim. She has also been a key organiser of the Devon Youth Games over many years. Helen is a wonderful Learning Support Teacher and she is inspirational in encouraging children with low self-esteem to achieve their very best. She is selfless and tireless, always giving her time and energies to others. She sets herself the highest of personal standards and lives by a code of honesty, integrity and fair play! Helen has already volunteered to help at London 2012 (that's the sort of person she is) but to play a part in the torch bearing prelude would be the icing on the cake for her, making her very proud indeed. I have just been presented with my service award for 25 years as a Cub Scout Leader, not 23 years
