Helen's nomination story

Helen is an amazing inspiration to everyone she meets. She lost her legs and hands when she was 22 to meningitis but this hasn't stopped her living her life to the full and helping others along the way. Helen is a volunteer visitor for the Meningitis Trust and has helped many other families and children cope with the after affects of this disease. At our wedding last year she had Ellie May Challis as her bridesmaid who lost all her limbs too and i think this demonstrates just how special she is. In spite of her own disabilities Helen works full time for the charity Disabled Motoring UK where again she is always helping others to lead more independent lives. I can not think of anyone more deserving than Helen to carry this torch. She always puts others before herself and is determined to create a world where people are accepted for who and what they do and not just what they look like.
