Helen has a very demanding job as a teacher at a special school in Bolton. The children are profoundly disabled and she believes in 'bringing the world to them', taking her class out as much as possible to experience life. At the end of what are always busy and stressful days she goes the 'extra mile' to help to run her local Beaver Scout Group. These children get fantastic opportunities to camp, cook on campfires, make visits to local landmarks, - in fact the theme of ' bringing the world to them' continues in her very active work with the Beavers. The boys in her care are the luckiest in the local community if they have a chance to join this active and wonderful group. Weekends are given up to plan, shop for and take the children to many different places which broadens their life experience and makes a great impact on them. She would be a perfect candidate for the olympic baton run.
