Helen Brown

Helen has been a member of Ardrossan Youth Association for over six years and for the past two as Chairperson. She is also Chairperson of North Ayrshire Youth Bank, which awards grants to youth and community groups in North Ayrshire. She recently volunteered in Malawi helping set up an HIV and Aids Clinic, as well as fund raising for orphans. She has been awarded a Millennium Volunteer Award. She organises fundraisers for many other charities. She is also a carer for her Gran. She is doing a nursing course and spends many additional hours at a local nursing home doing activities and chatting with elderly residents. She was a runner up in the recent North Ayrshire Young Citizen of the Year She gives up much of her time to enrich the lives of others, in her own quiet unassuming way.
