Heidi's nomination story

Heidi always shows courage under fire - as a friend, colleague, daughter, sister and aunty. This was put to the test when her sister Ceri became ill with lung cancer. Heidi was a key part of Ceri's strong emotional and practical support network to Ceri and young niece Leoni. In addition to continuing to be a fantastic manager and friend to many of us, Heidi became a key fundraiser for Velindre Hospital's cancer work. Ceri unfortunately died, but Heidi has continued to fundraise for Velindre; she climbed Kilimanjaro for Ceri because Ceri climbed a mountain too and has continued to remain positive in her attitude and action, despite facing a number of other personal challenges. Heidi continues to tirelessley fundraise - she is truly an inspiring woman of substance - for me and many of those who meet her. A strong bright light that deserves to carry an enduring bright light.
