Heather's nomination story

Heather is mental health nurse who has worked throughout Northern Ireland, presently a community mental health team leader in Coleraine. She has been a nurse serving the public for the past 18 years. Heather also is an active fundraiser who has directly raised over £5800 for local and national charities, in 2011 running the London marathon raising £2800 for the Ulster Cancer Foundation and in 2009 cycling from London to Paris for the MS Trust. 2012 will also mark her 40th birthday and I know being involved in something like this would be incredibly special for her personally and a recognition of her commitment and dedication to her profession, colleagues and the individuals with mental health problems that she feels privileged to help and support. Personally, Heather is a very driven and charismatic individual, she is a wife and mother of 2 children and a loyal friend. Heather as well as being my wife is my best friend, we have been married for 16 years on the weekend that I write this. Heather has been my inspiration and drive through our years together.
