Heather's nomination story

Heather is a cardiac nurse at Grantham NHS Hospital. With her very limited spare time she is a voluntary lifesaving instructor for Lincoln Lifesaving Club. She teaches pool and beach lifesaving skills to children aged between 8 and 18. She has organised for several of the children to compete in local and national competitions, with one of her swimmers recently being selected for a GB National Team trail. She has almost single handily organised an upcoming competition for all lifesaving clubs within Lincolnshire, these competitions help cement the skills that the children have been taught. Heather has also arranged for over 60 children to take part in various open water awards and she is currently heading a campaign to return voluntary lifeguards to Chapel Saint Leonards beach. I firmly believe that Heather deserves to be a torch bearer as she gives so much without any thought for herself. Thank you.
