Harry's nomination story

Having been diagnosed with premature ageing disorder (Atypical Progeria Syndrome) - the only person in the world with his unique strain - Harry often suffers severe arthritic pain. Despite this he is always cheerful, positive and an inspiration to everyone in his school and community. He has truly earned the respect and admiration of everyone who meets him. Harry always tries to do his best and his incredible efforts have led to achievements including: ? Chief Scout Award for Meritorious Conduct, presented by Prince Charles; ? Ambassador for Mirfield who represented Sir Patrick Stewart, switching on the Christmas lights; ? Elizabeth Peacock Award, normally reserved for adults, for outstanding achievement in scouting; ? Champion Children Award (Dewsbury/Mirfield Reporter series); ? Huddersfield Examiner Community Award for Children of Courage. In addition Harry organises regular fundraising efforts for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and 'Progeria'. Further details from facebook: Atypical Progeria Syndrome
