Haroon Akram

As a neighbourhood police officer I try to help the local community with their local issues and try to live their life in the community.As part of my job I am also a school liaison officer and thus have 3 high schools and 18 primary schools that I liaise with and my efforts in the 2012 Olympics will help me encourage these children at these schools to inspire them and encourage them. The various children have not many role models in their personal lives so whenever I have an opportunity to attend my many schools I try to give advice and deter youths from taking the wrong path. I hope if I am selected I can then relay my achievements in my police role and link this with the opportunity to be a part of the 2012 games. I believe if I am selected it will raise the confidence of the police service and help me integrate with the youths of Royton & Shaw in Oldham.
