Harry's nomination story

Throughout the Manchester Softball Leagues (MSL) entire 20 year history Harry has always been an active volunteer . Harry has had a significant impact in several volunteer roles including league head for the last 3 years during which time the league has been named by the British Softball Federation as winners of the 'Glover Cup' as the most outstanding league in the Country.

Harry is a popular leader of the rapidly growing 27 team league. Harry engages well with the leagues membership made up of people aged from 14 though to in their 60s and all teams are have a 50:50 gender balance ratio.

In addition to his role as league head Harry collates statistics from every game and makes them available online within hours of the games finishing, this is hugely appreciated by players within the league.

One of Harrys most outstanding contributions is the weekly production of the MSL publication 'Bases Loaded' formally known as the review. Its a high quality publication and very much appreciated by the MSL community. Its used in a variety of way including to celebrate success, improve players game knowledge and most importantly to promote a community feeling within the MSL http://www.manchestersoftball.co.uk/?q=review.

Another one of Harrys major achievement was securing funding and overseeing the construction of the first purpose built softball diamond in the North of England, it has a dirt infield and Homerun fence. This field has proved very popular and attracted new players to the MSL. The GB National team has planned some trainings on this field.
