Hannah's nomination story

Hannah is almost 18 & has been battling a cancerous brain tumour since Aug. '08, when she was 15. She has raised over £130k, between the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust and Alder Hey's Imagine Appeal Oncology Fund. She has had 3 operations, 6 weeks of radiotherapy & over 12 mths of chemotherapy. She suffered a stroke, which initially left her paralysed down her left side and unable to speak. Within weeks of diagnosis, she set up the Hannah Louise Jones Umbrella Fund at the Brain Tumour Trust & had soon raised thousands by selling 'Hannah Banana' hoodies. She dedicates a lot of time and energy to raising awareness and funds & even spoke at the House of Commons. Hannah is an inspiration to everyone who meets her. She has a positive outlook and zest for life & makes people laugh! Despite being extremely poorly & having serious health problems Hannah passed her GCEs with high grades. She is hoping to attend Chester University, to study teaching. Throughout her treatment she continued to volunteer at her local primary every Wednesday pm, the children love her! She is an inspiration to everyone she meets & would see this as a further opportunity to raise awareness! She would be carrying the torch in memory of 2 dear friends who lost their battles with their brain tumours; 14 yr old Annie & 19 yr old Christie. Hannah's sister, Molly (age 15) has been amazingly supportive & could help Hannah carry the torch if it's too heavy! They're both gorgeous too!
