Hannah tragically lost both parents within nine months of each other at the age of 13. Despite this huge loss, she continued with her education, stayed 'on track' and matured into a fine young woman, currently studying for a Degree in Design. Hannah is an exceptionally generous young person. She didn't hesitate to join me and Team 'Miss Understood' in cycling from London to Paris to raise vital funds for the National Autistic Society in May this year (my son is autistic). She also runs 'Race For Life' in her parents' memory and is about to embark on another cycle challenge in aid of Breast Cancer research. Hannah is a fantastic role model for young people as she is such a giving person and always ready to help others. Hannah had to grow up very quickly and missed out on the love and support of her parents during those crucial teenage years. I know they would be exceptionally proud of the way Hannah has turned out and I have nothing but admiration for her. I am nominating Hannah as an Olympic Torch Bearer becasue she has triumphed over adversity, is always ready to help others and represents all that is good in young people today.
