Hannah Cockroft

I am nominating Hannah Cockroft, the wheelchair racer because she embodies everything about striving for an individual's personal best. Hannah was born with a disability which means she is for much of the time reliant on a wheelchair but she has never allowed this to get in her way. Hannah's talent was spotted after she attended a wheelchair racing session promoting the Paralympics. Her brother and the local Rugby Club raised the money to buy Hannah her first racing chair. The support her family and the whole local community gives is tribute to her courage, determination and vibrant personality. Since being talent spotted she has trained hard and broken many racing personal bests. She holds a handful of world records and is a real contender for London 2012. Hannah has inspired young people along the way through her courage and determination to try sport and fulfil their own dreams. She is quite simply an inspiration!
