Hannah's nomination story

Hannah is an exceptional young lady yet to reach 20 years of age. Following a successful apprenticeship in the HRTC Laboratories Hannah has attained a permanent position in Hull. Hannah has raised money for Cancer Research, Children in Need, etc. by running, selling raffle tickets, persuading others to become involved, and acts as a Marshall for a yearly Dove House Hospice Walk. Hannah uses her cross-stitching skills to produce items for charity whilst promoting a dying art, and volunteers at the Hull Animal Welfare Trust on Saturday mornings caring for the animals there. Hannah is also involved with the BP School Links Scheme and HETA recruitment days. These are major reasons why Hannah has just been awarded a 2011 BP Tallow Chandler Gold Medal! If the aim of the 2012 Olympics is to leave a legacy, then that legacy requires young exemplars like Hannah to retain and nurture it.
