Hani Macki

Hani Macki is truly an inspirational person to the Omani community. His love fore sea and his determination to preserve Oman's maritime history allowed him to launch the Environment Society of Oman. The society has been acclaimed as one of the most active and successful non-profit organizations in Oman. . . In addition to his pro-active efforts in raising awareness on the Environment Society of Oman, Macki single-handedly launched the 'Mooring Buoy Campaign'. The campaign focused on installing mooring buoys to avoid boats from letting down their anchors and breaking the coral. The campaign managed to raise USD 100,000 to build and install buoys around diving spots which not only protect Oman's scenic coral reefs, but also help the diving industry strive
