Carrying the Flame on
Guy's nomination story

He works tirelessly to help and encourage everyone he comes into contact with. He is a PE teacher and has, for 10 years worked 7days a week and throughout the holidays to promote and develop sport for all children in not only his own school, but others within the region too. He volunteers for every sporting programme and initiative going and creates trips and experiences for all children (even paying for some who cannot afford the trips themselves). He has had some hard personal times recently and brings up his 3 year old son virtually singlehandedly- he never complains or gets down he sees only the good in people. Nothing is too much trouble for him to do. Each year he devotes many hours to enriching the lives of others thanklessly- his energies are remarkable! His annual sports festivals are legendary and see 300-400 children participate in multi sports events. His own programme for the Olympics at his school is already organised and has many demonstrations and then feeder links to clubs already establoished to promote and carry on the 2012 legacy long after the olympics has gone. He would be a really proud and worthwhile torch bearer who truly embodies the spirit of the games if he were to be selected. He is a single father to a 3 year old son to replace 'brings up his 3 year old son virtually singlehandedly'
