Guy has been a control room supervisor at BP Hamble since 2007. He is a devoted family man and a very conscientious worker who always makes the time for his work colleagues showing them both respect and friendship. Outside of work Guy has a large allotment from which the Hamble team often benefit; and it's been a particularly good year for rhubarb! Guy has also offered his gardening skills to help with the development and maintenance of an allotment for the kids at the local primary school. About 18 months ago, spurred on by the desire for a new challenge Guy took up running and has since completed the Great South Run and the London Marathon from which he raised thousands of pounds for '?The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association'. Having watched him train around Hamble and cross the finish line at the 10 mile Great South last year I can confirm Guy doesn't just complete these events he races them with both courage and determination. Guy thinks he may attempt a triathlon in 2012, but before that he will be raising money for ParalympicsGB at this year's Great South Run. He may not be quite good enough to win a race at the 2012 Olympics but he would make a very worthy and inspirational torch carrier.
