Glyn has run an Army Cadet detachment in a socially deprived area of Taunton. His tireless dedication has enabled several young people to gain their Dof E awards as well as BTechs in public services. He has lead the cadets to being in the top 4 of all the platoons in the battalion every year since he has been in charge. The platoon also regularly undertakes charity work raising money for the army benevolent fund and help for heroes. He encourages the cadets to take part in Ten Tors, Cosford and Nijmegen marches, all manner of sporting events with two of the boys representing England in Tug of War. His work was recognised recently when he won a county wide unsung hero award. He does all this while managing his own diabetes. Glyn is an inspiration to many of the young people in this area of town and I feel he should be given serious consideration. Was not able to download photo
