Our son Glenn was born with Talipes (club Feet) he has had a few operations including removal of his ankle bones to correct the position of his feet. Glenn took up sprint running only 3 years ago after being spotted by the playground to podium scheme & now competes in disabled races both nationally and internationally in both 100mtr and 200mtr races. He has an IPC classification as a T43 and is in the same category as Oscar Pistorius. Glenn is Junior National champion at both distances for the 3rd year running. He is ranked 7th in the world, he has competed for his country in the UK School Games. Glenn was invited to compete as a Guest at the Final Diamond League meeting in Brussels in 2010 . Glenn is so inspirational. he does voluntary coaching at an athletic club for disabled children in Bromsgrove. He is an ambassador for a charity that his surgeon set up for underprivileged children in Sierra Leone. He raised over £3000 for the charity last year. He always gives 110% to help the disabled in the community turning up for our local council to give out medals and encourage children to actively take part in sport. He has given key note speeches to sports awards functions. has spoken to 3000 teachers at the school sports conference about his condition and ambitions to represent his country hopefully at the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio. In 2010 Glenn won the Midlands Young Male Achiever Award, a Disabled Sport Award and Redditch BC Sports personality.
