Gillian Skeen

Gillian is an under-appreciated self-less woman who has dedicated her live to helping children with disabilities and learning difficulties. She has cared for her profoundly disabled daughter for 29 years, has volunteer work with romsey Opportunity group for children with disabilities and learning difficulties. Gill has worked tirelessly to raise funding for specialist schools and charities. Gill offers advice in the community and all without a grumble. for her to carry the olympic torch would show the millions of carers in the UK that we recognise their strife and their hard work doesnt go un-noticed. There has been bad press for carers lately but an inclusive institution like the olympics which caters with the para-olympics really has the power to boost the profile of carers and Gill especially because she is an outstanding mother, daughter, friend and collegue.
