Ged Hoburn

After losing his beloved daughter Sara to cancer Ged set up the Sara's Hope Foundation to provide holidays in Crete for children living with cancer and their families,raising over £200,000 in a few years. 2011 saw his dream come true as the first families visited Sara's Retreat. Carrying the Olympic Torch would give Ged a chance to thank all those who have supported the charity and would allow all of those who have seen his dedication to acknowledge him, and to remember Sara and all children who live with cancer. He has battled through his sorrow and loss and created a unique charity providing holiday breaks for children living with cancer, giving them smiles, hopes, and precious memories.
