George Mortlock is 15 years old and my son, At 3 days old he was found to have chronic renal falure and was transefered to Great Ormond Street Hospital, he spent many months in Hospital, at 23 months old he received a life saving Kidney Transplant, George has faced many medical battles due to his illness and has had 9 operations in his life and is on medication daily. George is a very determined young man, He has represented Great Ormond Street hospital 7 times at the annual British Transplant Games, and the last 2 years in Covenrty in 09 and Bath 10 he won the best child athlete in his age group, winning gold medals in Swimming and Golf, he also in 2009 represented the UK at the World Transplant games in Australia, winning 2 golds , 1 silver and 1 bronze medal for swimming. Unfortunately due to his GSCE exams he has had to miss this years World Transplant games being held in Sweden. But he will be competing for Great Ormond Street in August at the British Transplant Games in Belfast. George is a keen Golfer and a member at Dartford Golf Club with a 7 h/c. George has been an inspiration to me and all of his family . and he has found through his determination for life a great deal of success and enjoyment in Sport. when George was 3 days old and weighing 4lbs he was given a slim chance of survival, but today he is mature 15 year old boy enjoying life and sports. His kidney has been with him for over 13 years now and we aways thank his donor family for his Gift of Life.
