I have worked with George since 2002 when Rolls-Royce first opened the Plant, and since that time George has completed many events for charity, including swimming the English Channel. He enjoys sporting activities and frequently enters competitions in running, swimming and cycling. He encourages the team to join him and to enter events by themselves. Although George has many commendable character traits, the one which impresses me the most is his drive and enthusiasm for developing people. He believes in finding people's abilities, coaching and supporting them to enable them to shine. He nurtures the individuals and the team as a whole. He knows when to step back to allow individuals to develop themselves and when to step in to support them when needed. He balances the interests of the team with all the other managerial and operational duties. He really is a great manager and one who I have picked out for my own personal development, as someone whom I aspire to behave like. He is an exemplary manager and I believe he deserves to carry the torch.
