I nominate George (17) as a torch bearer for enthusing children to overcome physical and mental obstacles in everyday life Thorough his passion for setting challenges and working to achieve them the children have seen that resilience, determination and courage are all qualities that they can aspire to in their schoolwork and lives. Yet despite achieving his dream he has remained very modest about his achievements. George has become their role model. He hopes continue to visit other young people to talk about his experiences also inspiring them. His experience . In May 2011 he climbed Everest making him the youngest person in Britain to have done this. At the same time he became the youngest person in the World to have completed the Seven Summit Challenge, which is to climb the highest summits in the seven continents. George has had to overcome many physical and mental obstacles to conquer these mountains. His expedition has taught him resilience, determination and confidence to overcome problems. These have helped him with his dyslexia and despite a very rigorous training scheme he has also managed his academic work achieving 13 top grade GCSE's. George also raises money for his nominated charity Shooting Star CHASE. This charity runs two childrens' hospices for children with life limiting illnesses. He is proud to have brought these mountaineering records home to Britain. He hopes this will inspire youngesters to achieve their goals.
