Gemma Passmore

My sister, Gemma, dedicates herself to others. In 2010 and 2011 she completed the Help for Heroes 'Gym for Heroes' challenge which involves a 12 hour non-stop gym challenge. Both years, she has achieved the longest distance for women in the UK, covering almost 200km in her 2011 12 hour event. This is an amazing test of her physical ability as well as demonstrating her commitment and drive to help others. In total, she has raised almost £3000 for the charity. She is a specialist paediatric physiotherapist and dedicates herself to doing the best job she can. She often takes a little girl out, in her own time, to give the parents some respite, clearly going above and beyond the call of duty. I know she would hugely appreciate the opportunity to be considered a community champion. She displays qualities of character that we as a country should be promoting to the world in 2012.
