I am nominating Gavin Ellis for the IHG Relay as Gavin is an avid sportsman who regularly takes part in marathons and tri-athalons. Gavin runs for charity and the Multiple Sclerosis Society has benefitted a number of times from Gavin's generosity. I know that Gavin would be extremely happy to get the opportunity to represent IHG in the Torch relay and I feel that he would be a great asset as he is completely selfless when it comes to raising money for charity and it would be fantastic for him to receive such a prestigious honour.
Gavin lives and breaths sport and is a true ambassador for promoting healthy living and keeping active at work. He cycles to and from work everyday which is approx 30 miles every week.
Gavin has used his own level of fitness to help others and has took on many sporting challenges to push himself to the limit but also to support many national charities and also local charities that are important personally to him.
Gavin has completed a 26 mile overnight walk in Manchester called Shine supporting Cancer Research.
He also took part in a 20 mile walk of London to support HACK. Hike against Child Cruelty.
He supported his IHG colleagues by taking part in a sponsored bike ride to UKCRO to aid Great Ormond Street.
Other activities included taking part in the Great North Run in aid of the MS Society and Gavin also completed a 10k race for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Gavin is a true inspiration and continues to strive for opportunities to improve his fitness and support any charity where possible. CR
