Gavin Cattle is the captain of the Cornish Pirates, the only professional rugby team in Cornwall. He is an inspirational leader as proven by the fact that the Pirates have won two national trophies-the EDF National Trophy in 2007, beating Exeter at Twickenham and in 2010 beating Munster in the final of the Bristish & Irish Cup. In addition, and still under Gavin's leadership the Pirates reached the Championship Final only to be beaten by Worcester in May of this year. He is the only player to have been nominated in the Championship Dream Team on four occasions. As well as an outstanding player he is already looking to contribute to rugby and the community when his playing career is over and has recently completed his RFU level 3 Coaching qualification. He has an engaging, outgoing personality and gives much of his time to helping youngsters and promoting the game throughout Cornwall.
