Gareth Thomas

Gareth Thomas works tirelessly as a Training Officer for Wetherby Air Cadets.

The Cadets give a strong framework for good citizenship and personal achievement. They bring out the best in young people, often at a time when they're vulnerable. The wide range of activities and inpiration take their members from being shy and underconfident to leaving with incredible self believe.

Gareth's latest achievements include gaining an RAF commission, winnning a national competition for £1000 of flight simulator equipment and fundraising £3000 for a computer room which he fitted and networked himself! He runs activities each week for over 6 hours and reguarly gives up his family weekends to support the group. He coaches young people through difficult times, when the adults in their life have let them down and gives them confidence and focus for the future.

Gareth Makes a Difference by not just giving alot of time and money, but by inspiring the young people he works with and showing how good work is rewarded.
